Martin has experience in many design disciplines. An honours graduate of Saint Martin's School of Art, he went on to work
for London agencies D4 and Sedley Place.
On returning to the Midlands he joined Loughborough based JKD, becoming
involved in exhibition and museum design. Kilvington Design followed specialising in corporate identity and high quality print
design projects. Birdhouse was created
in 1995.

Graduating from Leicester Polytechnic in the 80s (now DeMontfort University) Marc spent 10 years as an all round freelance designer with involvement in a broad portfolio of design disciplines and projects contributing to the 'hands-on' depth and experience of Birdhouse. Two years at Blyth Lee Associates overseeing design and production preceded the collaboration with Martin to form Birdhouse Design in 1995.
